The right choice depends on your household, including children, pets and whether the stairs are part of the project. A bedroom may allow a softer style, but the hall is the place to start when you want the upstairs to look good for years.

Compare texture and fibre in person
Two carpets can look alike in a photo but feel different underfoot. Bring samples into the actual rooms and compare texture, pile height and colour in both daylight and evening light. If easy care matters, ask about the cleaning guidance and stain-resistance of the specific products you like. That gives you a more useful comparison than a broad label such as plush or berber.
Do not overlook the underpad
Underpad helps shape how carpet feels, sounds and wears. Busy halls and stairs generally need firm support, while bedrooms may allow a different balance of support and softness. The best pad also depends on the carpet manufacturer's requirements. We include suitable underpad choices in the discussion and show what each option adds to the estimate.
Find colours that work in both spaces
The same carpet can appear lighter by a bedroom window and darker in a hallway without much natural light. Try samples in both places before choosing a colour. Mid-tones and subtle texture can be practical along busy routes; bedrooms give you room to choose a calmer or softer look. We can compare shades together so the upstairs feels connected even if the carpet styles differ.
Including the stairs
If the staircase joins the upstairs project, tell us early. The stair carpet may need a different construction from the bedrooms, and the shape of the steps affects the finished look.
