Project planning

Two details to review during a residential renovation.

Useful when a decorator is involved or older floors may remain below the carpet.

Sequence flooring with the decorator, not after.
For renovating households

Coordinate flooring with paint, trim and other finish work.

Carpet undertones can look different beside paint, trim and changing daylight. Review the sample with the other finishes in the room before ordering.

Review samples in the room
Old floors under carpet deserve a look first.
For heritage-district owners

Inspect the floor below before deciding what should be covered.

Older broadloom may cover a floor worth reviewing before new carpet is installed. Confirm what is below and whether any existing surface should remain exposed.
