A clear written estimate helps you understand what is included in your carpet installation and what support is available afterward. Warranty coverage can differ between products and projects, so it is worth reviewing the terms before work begins.
Understand the two types of warranty
A manufacturer warranty applies to the carpet product under the manufacturer’s terms. A labour warranty applies to eligible installation workmanship under the installer’s written terms. The two cover different concerns and may have different durations, exclusions and claim procedures.
At Victorious Carpet & Flooring, your written estimate confirms the labour warranty included with your project. Some projects include a one-year limited labour warranty; qualifying carpet supply-and-install projects may be eligible for a Limited Lifetime Labour Warranty. Lifetime coverage does not apply automatically to every purchase or service.
What to check before installation
- The carpet and underpad included in the quote.
- The installation scope, including any agreed floor preparation, transitions or stairs.
- Who is responsible for furniture moving and removal of existing flooring.
- The applicable warranty period, coverage and exclusions.
- How to report a concern and what information to keep.
Keep your estimate, invoice and product care instructions together. If any part of the coverage is unclear, ask for clarification before approving the work.
If you notice a change in your carpet
Ripples, loose edges or other concerns can become noticeable at different times. There is no fixed waiting period before an installation issue can appear, and a visible change alone does not establish its cause or whether it is covered by a warranty.
Contact your installer when you notice a concern. Photographs, the installation date and a description of what has changed can help with the initial review. An on-site assessment may be needed to determine the cause and appropriate next step.
Planning a repair or re-stretching visit
Access requirements depend on the affected area and the work needed. Furniture may need to be moved to allow assessment and repair. Confirm those arrangements, the proposed scope and any applicable charges before the visit.
The condition of the carpet backing, underpad, tack strip and concealed floor can affect the available repair options. Your installer can explain what can be assessed in advance and what may only become clear once the area is accessible.
